Originally from Warsaw, Poland, Mona Kowalska started her career designing for various Italian labels, and at one time ran Sonia Rykiel's Paris design studio. She started her own line, A Détacher, in 1998. The label has allowed Kowalska to fuse her interests in art, design and fashion; she has a passion for the construction of clothing. This focus on structure is reflected in her avant-garde collections of dresses, jackets and jewelry that lend wearers an unique spiritual posture and individuality.
